The pressure-converter spool is a vital component of steam-turbine governing systems. Though compact in size, it acts as the "nerve center" linking unit signals and actuators. Its performance directly determines the turbine's stable load-carrying capacity and rapid response to grid fluctuations.
Working Principle
The core task of the pressure-converter spool is signal conversion and actuation driving. When turbine rotating speed or load varies (e.g., sudden grid load increase), it rapidly captures electric or hydraulic signals. Through tiny spool displacement (normally several millimeters), it precisely regulates the high-pressure oil flow feeding to the servo-motor. Driven by oil flow, the servo-motor opens or closes turbine control valves, and finally adjusts steam admission.
